Nyon
Located between Lake Geneva and the foothills of the Jura Mountains, Nyon is the second largest wine-growing area in the canton of Vaud. Its vineyards are situated at an altitude of between 400 and 480 metres above sea-level, on the region’s best hillsides, and benefit from a micro-climate well suited to wine-growing. It is the most southerly of all appellations, thanks in particular to its proximity to the lake, its low rainfall, and long hours of sunshine during the summer. A total of 267 hectares of vineyards consists mainly of Chasselas, Gamay and Pinot, with the remainder divided between speciality reds and whites.
