Edition 2021, discover the winners of the Mondial du Chasselas competition!
After a dip in 2020 due to the pandemic, the number of registrations picked up significantly with 762 samples (compared to 704 the previous year). While the majority of the wines presented came from French-speaking Switzerland, a pleasing proportion (14%) of competitors came from Germany, France, and even Canada and the United States. In accordance with OIV standards, less than 30% of the wines entered were distinguished, as shown in the results to be downloaded below, which present the complete list of winners of the Mondial du Chasselas 2021. For the announcement of the results, the Château d’Aigle, in the Chablais region of Vaud, hosted the official awards ceremony on Thursday, August 26, at the end of which guests were able to taste the world’s elite Chasselas wines in a privileged setting.
n terms of statistics, there were 452 Vaud wines, out of the 762 participating wines, including 181 from La Côte.
222 wines were distinguished, 127 of them with gold medals.
This event aims to promote the chasselas grape variety.
As for the successes of the La Côte wines, we note the very nice gold medal of the Domaine des Tilleuls which finished 2nd in the Dry White category with its chasselas Le Tilleul Blanc, from the AOC La Côte Morges.
