Morges

Located between Lausanne and the Aubonne River, the vineyards of Morges cover an area of 605 hectares. It is the largest production area in the canton of Vaud and is characterised by an abundance of hillside vineyards. The region offers an exceptional climate for wine-growing, which means that a large number of different grape varieties can be cultivated on its territory. These include classic wines such as Chasselas, the most widely grown variety, as well as high quality reds made from Gamay and Pinot Noir grapes. Wine-growers have diversified their production recently by introducing varieties with more “exotic” notes (Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Cabernet).
