The La région de la côte

The La Côte region represents more than half of the wine-growing area of the canton of Vaud (52.4%) and no fewer than twelve production areas. As such, it produces much of the canton’s white wine, including the inimitable Chasselas with its vibrant, fruity characteristics, as well as local specialities such as Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc and Doral. The territory also accounts for half of the red wines produced in the canton, such as Pinot Noir and Gamay, and also two elegant and generous indigenous varieties, Gamaret and Garanoir. Don’t hesitate to learn more about different production areas and their special features from the list below.
